Microtec In/Out Antislip Tiles
Microtec In/Out Antislip tiles are designed for seamless use across both indoor and outdoor spaces. The advanced micro-textured surface provides enhanced slip resistance while still maintaining a smooth, refined feel underfoot.
Using the same tile indoors and outdoors helps create a continuous flow between spaces, making these tiles ideal for patios, pool areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and open-plan living areas.
This type of surface finish is commonly referred to in the tile industry by several names depending on the manufacturer, including Microtec, Microgrip, Gecko Grip, and In/Out antislip tiles. While terminology may vary between brands, these finishes generally describe porcelain tiles manufactured with a micro-textured surface designed to improve slip resistance in wet conditions.

Cleaning & Maintenance
Correct cleaning after installation helps maintain the appearance and performance of Microtec In/Out Antislip porcelain tiles.
Important
Micro-textured antislip porcelain tiles should not be sealed. Applying penetrating or topical sealers may reduce slip resistance and is generally not recommended.
Pre-Grouting (Recommended)
Applying a grout release product before grouting can help reduce grout residue on the tile surface and make installation cleaning easier.
Always follow the grout release manufacturer’s instructions and test on a small area before full application.
Post-Installation Cleaning
After grouting, any remaining grout residue or installation film should be removed using a cleaner suitable for cement grout haze or construction residue on porcelain tiles.
Light agitation with a soft brush or non-abrasive nylon pad may assist with removing residue from the micro-textured surface. The surface should then be rinsed thoroughly with clean water.
Always follow the cleaning product manufacturer’s instructions and avoid allowing cleaners to dry on the tile surface.
Routine Cleaning
For regular maintenance:
-
Sweep or vacuum to remove loose dirt and debris
-
Mop with warm water and a pH-neutral tile cleaner suitable for porcelain tiles
-
Use microfibre mop systems or soft cleaning pads
-
Replace cleaning solution regularly during cleaning
Deep Cleaning
Occasional deeper cleaning may be required depending on site conditions and contamination.
Suitable specialised tile cleaners may assist with removing:
-
Grease or surface film build-up
-
Cement residue or grout haze
-
Mineral deposits or soap residue
-
Rust or other staining
Cleaning products should always be tested in an inconspicuous area before full application.
